38th Executive Committee of CityNet and international seminar on 'Heritage and Sustainable Tourism'
Lalitpur Metropolitan City has organized the 38th Executive Committee of CityNet and international seminar on 'Heritage and Sustainable Tourism' on 6-8th of November. CityNet is the largest network of 135 municipalities, NGOs, private companies and research centers in the support of UNESCAP, UNDP and UN Habitat.
It connects, exchange knowledge and build commitment to establish more sustainable and resilient cities and also helps build leadership capacity to develop and prosper the cities through exchange of good practices and experiences between cities and affiliated organizations.
Lalitpur Metropolitan City was elected as CityNet Executive Committee Member last year on the convention held in Sri Lanka and was able to get opportunity to held the program this year.
The CityNet meeting was inaugurated by Honorable Mr. Nanda Bahadur Pun, Vice President of Nepal at Patan Durbar Square on 6th November.
The program has helped to promote Nepal tourism worldwide through the 88 foreign delegates, including 14 Mayors and heads of various international organizations participating, together with 43 local delegates. It has also helped to exchange the culture and promotion for Visit Nepal 2020.
